I’m a oxford shirt sewing expert. Not really, but I felt like it when I finished my husband’s second (but first wearable) Fairfield Button-up. The Fairfield Button-up is your classic men’s oxford shirt right down to the flat-felled seams.
This jacket has been almost a year in the making. I asked for and received this fabric last Christmas with the intentions of making this Jacket, and it has finally come to fruition! Plus, I’m excited to share a super simple tutorial for some pleated pockets, which I’ve featured on this version.
Another 2017MakeNine (kinda) crossed off the list!
The next pattern to be crossed off my #2017MakeNine list is the Lonetree Jacket by Allie Olson! I was so excited when this pattern was released because I love this style of jacket/vest and it fills a spot in my handmade wardrobe.
For my birthday this year I decided to take a day off work and spend the day sewing. It was such a great decision and one I think I’m going to turn into a tradition. This day of sewing allowed me to finally cross off one of my 2017 Make Nine patterns: the Colfax Dress! This is not a dress I would typically pick up in a store, primarily because I tend to stay away from sleeveless pieces. However, I have been drawn to this pattern ever since it released and used the 2017MakeNine as the push to jump out of my comfort zone. I’m so glad I did.
